As full as the conference calendar is, it's inevitable that some events will overlap with others. Still, the Materials Research Society's Organic Microelectronics Workshop has especially unfortunate scheduling. It's the same week as Semicon West.

Here's one from the really cool materials science file. Apparently the bright coloring of some butterflies comes from nanocrystalline structures on their wings, not from pigmentation. (Work presented at the E-MRS Spring Meeting, this week in Nice.)
